When to approach us
As early as possible — ideally while you are still shaping the research question.
- Before you write the protocol for study design, feasibility and sample size. This is when statistical input changes the most.
- Before you submit a grant if you need a methods or analysis section.
- Before you start collecting data to agree how it will be captured and coded.
- After collection for analysis, or for statistical review of a manuscript.
You do not need IRB approval, a finished protocol, or any data to ask.

What happens after you submit
Your request is assigned to a statistician, who will either reply with advice or arrange a consultation. You can follow the request and add attachments or comments in your portal at any time.
We aim to acknowledge your request within one working day, and to complete it within 5 working days.
